Élise Chauvin started singing at the age of 10 and joined the Maîtrise de Paris at the Paris Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional. She went on to study philosophy at University Paris VIII, and singing at École Normale de Musique de Paris supported by the Zaleski Foundation.
Chauvin has sung Noémie in Massenet’s Cendrillon (Opéra de Massy), Pauline in Offenbach’s La Vie Parisienne (Collectif Lyrique), Despina in Così fan tutte and Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro (Massy Orchestra).
As a member of Le Balcon, she has sung Jury in Stockhausen’s Examen, Femme 1 in Marco Suarez’s L’enfer Musical d’Alejandra Pizarnik, Echo
in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, and Femme/Fille/Voleuse in Peter Ëotvös’ Le Balcon. She has also performed regularly with the Nouveau Studio of the Opéra de Lyon since 2011.
Passionate about contemporary repertoire, Chauvin this season
has a busy international schedule, performing notably at the Buenos Aires Opera House, the Limoge Opera House and at the Berlioz Festival and Musica Festival of Strasbourg. She performs Georges Benjamin’s Into the Little Hill at the Théâtre de l’Athénée and at the Lille Opera House.
